Welcome to the Richardson Municipal Court’s online payment system.  Most tickets will not be available for online payment for approximately three days from the date of offense; however, you are still responsible for making an appearance within fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of offense.

Please be aware that not all violations may be paid online; some require a court appearance because of the type of offense or age of defendant.  Additionally, paperwork may be required as part of your request.

This system will not accept payments for:

  • Juveniles age 16 or under either before or after a court appearance
  • Minors ages 17 to 20 who received an alcohol or tobacco related charge (court appearance required)
  • Charges involving an allegation of family, domestic, household or dating violence (court appearance required)

This system will allow you to:

  • Pay in full
  • Make a payment on an approved, existing extension to pay or payment plan
  • Pay the fee for deferred disposition previously approved by the judge

This system will allow you to request and make a payment for the following (when eligible):

  • Driving Safety Course
  • Deferred Disposition

The following services are offered online (if eligible):

- Driving Safety Course

If citation lists multiple violations, Driving Safety Course is only available for one (1) violation.

Must NOT have completed a Driving Safety Course for dismissal of another citation within the last 12 months.

- Deferred Disposition

If citation lists multiple violations, Deferred Disposition is only available online for one (1) violation. If you wish to request Deferred Disposition on multiple violations, you must appear in person.

Must NOT have had a case dismissed within the last 12 months for completion of deferred disposition

Additional conditions may be required depending on the violation.  Please contact the Clerk's office at 972-744-4500 for additional details.

- Payment in Full

If you are currently scheduled for a court date and choose to pay your fine amount, it WILL result in a conviction and the loss of opportunity to receive a deferred disposition or a driving safety course option, if eligible.

- Extension to Pay

If you choose to request an extension to pay your fine amount, it WILL result in a conviction and the loss of opportunity to receive a deferred disposition or a driving safety course option, if eligible.

The following services are also offered online if you have requested an extension, are past due, on a payment plan, or currently have active warrants:

- Payment in Full

- Partial / PayPlan Payments

Online payments require the defendant to waive his/her right to a jury trial, waive right to discovery, and enter a plea of Nolo Contendere or Guilty.  Be aware that if you are not requesting Deferred Disposition Probation or a Driving Safety Course through this online system and are only entering a plea and paying online without a formal request to the court to keep the violation(s) off your record, this will constitute a conviction that may be reported to your driving record or a criminal record, as required by law.

To proceed, you must agree that you have read and understand the following:

I understand that paying in full may result in a conviction on my driving record.

If a drivers safety course was previously granted and I opt to pay the remaining balance online, I understand this payment will constitute a waiver of the Show Cause hearing, a request for the Judge to impose judgment, and a waiver of my right to appeal the judgment imposed.

I understand there will be a processing fee for credit card and debit card payments made through the online citation payment system. A convenience fee of $2.50 - $3.50 will be applied for using this service.

I understand that by entering my plea and selecting one of the available options, I am waiving my right to receive discovery or further discovery information pertaining to my case.

I understand that if I am not a citizen of the United States of America, a plea of No Contest for the offense charged may affect my immigration or residency status and may result in deportation, the exclusion from admission to this country, or the denial of naturalization under federal law, and that it is unlawful for a defendant to possess or transfer a firearm or ammunition if the defendant is convicted of a misdemeanor involving family violence.

I understand that if convicted of a family violence related offense, it will become unlawful to own, possess or transfer any firearm or ammunition, and such a conviction may affect a variety of other state licensing that I may either now possess or wish to make application for in the future. By entering a plea of guilty or no contest to a family violence related offense, I specifically acknowledge that I have been made aware of this warning, and I am aware that I have the right to enter a plea of not guilty and to consult with an attorney regarding my rights herein.

Helpful Hint: If you are unable to locate your citation online or the option you are requesting is not available, please contact the court or appear in person for further information. If your citation number includes a letter, you must enter this information in CAPTIAL LETTERS.

Arrested?  Currently in custody?  To pay for a defendant who is currently in custody, you MUST contact the jail where the individual is being detained for Richardson charges. (This online payment system will NOT notify any jail or detention facility of the need to be released from custody.)
