Defendants with a clean driving record have the opportunity to keep a good record by attending a defensive driving course. To determine if you meet requirements to apply for driving school, contact the Magistrate's Office at 205-668-3801or 205-668-3841. The cost for attending Driving School is $125.00 due before your scheduled court date.
Some Citations / cases cannot be paid without a court appearance. The offenses that can be paid are listed on your ticket. If you have been convicted of more that two violations during the preceding 12 months, State law requires you to appear in court.
If Defendant wants to plead Not Guilty and take a case to trial, they must appear in person on the court date and time shown on the citation.
